This School year Ms. Etter and Mr. Smith, with the support of teachers, will be facilitating guidance lessons in Kinder, First and Second grades around the topic of Whole Body Listening. The idea behind Whole Body Listening is to teach our children that we use more than just our ears to listen to a speaker. We use our whole body. We use our eyes to look at the person talking, our ears to hear, our mouths quiet, our hands, feet and bodies still, our brain thinking about what's being said and our hearts caring about what the person is saying. Practicing whole body listening can help us all learn to communicate better. If you have time try practicing this with your little one and have them teach you. Acting out the eight skills and how they work together and need each other is a lot of fun.
